Seeing Stars

For 2011, I will stretch my creative muscles and make a star each day.
I will see and celebrate a human star each week. I look forward to acknowledging the every day people who make this world a better place.
Stay tuned, baby!!!

february already?

I'm not going to kick my ass because I only did about half a month of stars at the beginning of this project..but seriously? it's already february?

Will I have to double up on star art this month to catch up?
Before I make these self imposed creative time decisions..I will put up some Found Stars to make up for the lack of Made Stars. I would love to make some of these little embellished metal funky objects..found these in Jackson Hole a while back and they have inspired some of my own star art.
enjoy

1.12.11 guess what this is star

what do you think I made this star with? I would love to hear your answers (of course this would make some have to go the extra mile of signing up for blogger etc...)
do it!!!!!

1.12.11 coffee bean star

my sis and her cute husband roasted their own coffee beans and packaged them oh so cool for christmas..I loved the way my hands smelled after forming this staf.

1.11.11 break up star

feeling a little exposed today after a sad break up..would have cut a heart out of my orange to metaphor my feelings but instead..I will rize and shine above this, damnit! a star, it is...a nice, crooked, juicy star.

1.10.11 pen collection star

I love pens..decided they would be a useful thing to collect..pictured here in the form of a..star..(hmm...imagine that?) are my fuzzy ballerina and goosey looking pens, my lipstick pen (someone said it looked like it should have batteries..naughty boy), my pens with india art on them (I need to look up the name of this kind of beaded embellishment), lizzard pen, monkey pen (my granddaughter talked me into buying) and other fun stuff.

1.7.11 canvas stuffy star

what fun to take a piece of canvas and paint the hell out of it with washes and markings and then cut a star shape, sew, stuff, paint a face on it and some applicable phrases...now what can I do with it?? besides post it here, of course...

1.6.11 star me diagram

I used to symbol of star to guide me as I diagrammed who I am..all the facets and what shoots out of them...something like that.

1.5.11 more earrings

I didn't make these origami stars..was taught to make them by teenage boy at my work but have forgot and am looking for someone to teach me (hint hint) These stars were made with my friend, Teri Martin's paper and were so small and delicate, I had to make earrings with them.

1.4.11 stitched mesh

Walking through the dollar store, I wondered..what artsy thing could I do with wire mesh strainers? I know...cut the handles off, stitch stars on each one using ribbon, sparkly thread and beads and then connect them to make a ball, tie on some ribbon and wahlah! a fancy star ball!

1.3.11 felt pocket

I plan to put ideas into this little pocket I felted with stars and "Shine"

1.2.11 wire wrapping?

ok, so I have yet to master the wrapping of the wire but had to make earrings with these little starfish I found at Hobby Lobby. As sexy as they are..must not wear while making out..way too fragile.

let the uploading begin!

As with most good intentions, there are glitches. My glitch with daily stars was a flat tire, a disk reader not working and working overtime all weekend.
But, I'm all together and catching up today.
January 1, 2011
I may be cheating to put a star I made before 1/1/11 but I am a rule breaker so enjoy the ceramic star I also cheated on..no glaze firing for me. Ugh..I hate bloppy messes in my kiln and the surprise of the glaze color is no bueno for this immediate satisfaction girl. I used leather tools and stamps to make marks on my freestyle star, bisque fired and painted with random glowy acrylics.
